As stated in previous posts, I'm using an Omni antenna outdoors, which obviously connects to my Iburst desktop modem(the black one). From there I'm running a lan cable from its' cat5 port to a wireless SMC broadband routers' WAN port. Everything works fine and I have no problems.

What I would like to know is this, how can I determine what my signal strength is, because as far I can tell, the Iburst Dashboard only works via the USB connection. I'm running Windows 7 if that helps in any way. And the dashboard is the only way I've been able to see what the signal strength is in terms of a percentage. Yes I know you have red, yellow and green lights, but that doesn't really help. That's like saying you scored an A for an exam/test, but that could be anything from 80%-100%.

Anybody have any ideas?

PS: Do you think the Iburst help desk folks read these posts?

Theres no way exept get out a laptop intstall the iburst modem drive dont bother with the dashboard connect via usb place modem around till you get best signal and then just conect it back to your router.
thats what i did and havent moved my modem and every now and again i check if my signal is still the same and its fine, If you want to ensure its alway top notch get an external antenae.

and make sure your MTU is set to 1392 on the router that will help with speed too

The MTU, I change that on my SMC router mos, correct?

Wow, check the slang there! HAHAHA!

There is a method to communicate to the UTD directly via telnet. This is a debug and diagnostics mode that should not be used permanently (and there is the disclosure that if you break it you are on your own). PM me if you want the details and acknowledge the disclosure.
