I have just upgraded to the iBurst Desktop Modem. I have it plugged into a D-Link Wireless router which is providing me with wireless iBurst access in my home.

I am using this http://www.dropbox.com/ application, but for some reason it is not syncing anymore. It says it cannot establish a connecting even though I have internet access. IT used to work fine when I had my iBurst USB Modem.

The only settings I can change are under the network settings are:

  • no Proxy
  • Auto-detect proxy settings
  • Manually enter proxy settings

Before it was set to Auto-detect proxy settings. I am not too sure why it is not working now. Is there something else I need to change or setup on my wireless router so that this application can sync properly again?

tried resetting iBurst modem and wireless router, still not syncing.

Why would just this application stop working, but everything else is working fine

My Dropbox access works no matter where I am, no matter how I'm connected - from which we deduce that it's UPnP-agnostic ..tell you one thing that happened to me yesterday though: I had to change clients of mine from their shiny new ADSL back to their iBurst as the line had dropped sync. So I put the UTD back into the router, set it back to it's (in-router recalled) PPPoE settings, pressed 'save' ..and nothing - browsing/telnet was dead in the water. Reset the router; still nothing.

Then, it *finally* dawned on me (it was late on a hot day and I'm not talking about it any more!) :o I had to put the bloody MTU back to 1352 too. After which everything I tried to reach sprang to life.

Relevance to the OP? Well, he's gone from UTU where there's no MTU to worry about to a router-connected UTD and NO-ONE (yes dangerboy, this IS directed at you!) :p has thought to look at that most obvious point first.
