Why ?
It seems obvious to me that WBS are going to want to get as many customers onboard as is possible ?
They are not going to be content with a few thousand and will almost certainly be aiming to for ADSL's current 50 000 people user base !
I find it hard to believe that some people will defend such an incredibly high modem cost.
I understand that there's always a higher cost involved for early adopters, but the cost of the iBurst modem is really out of whack - yes, so was the Sentech one way back when, but that was covered in what, at the time, seemed like a good 24 month contract deal ! (heh - how so many of us got burned there !)
R2800 is a massive initial outlay for many people, myself included. I'd go for R1500 no problem - and that's 3 times more than an ADSL modem.
