I'm going demented trying to understand all this stuff.

I used to have ADSL at home. Part of my house burnt down & I cannot live there for a while.

I need to be able to connect my laptop to the internet with comparable performance to the ADSL that I had.

This is what I have:

A cell phone that has/supports
HSDPA
WCDM in GSM/EDGE networks
Bluetooth
USB connector

A laptop that has USB ports, a 56K modem & bluetooth

What do I need to be able to get connected to the net? I've been told to buy a 3G card or to get iBurst but I am totally confused as to what I should choose and what parts I need to buy!

I'll be homeless for about 2 months so I don't want a contract or any permanent or very expensive solution. My average monthly ADSL consumption was around 2Gb.

sounds like you need to get your priorities straight, and find a place to stay first!

ditto on the 2nd post

Um, yes well thanks for that advice. I do have somewhere to stay - just not in my house;)

I've always thought that the term homeless is a bit silly. The way Juliet used it actually makes more sense. As George Carlin says, "A home is a concept, these people need houses!"

With almost 8000 posts in just the last year, Keeper, are you not perhaps projecting your own priorities? :D
