Iburst Forum Split [iBurst Forum Mitosis]

Thanks IC. I remember bringing up this subject in an even earlier thread.

I think Iburst deserves its own section - things are hectic here - and the forum could be split into something like:

a) General, Iburst news, product discussions, comparisons, developments etc

b) Current Network status, performance, experiences & problems etc.

c) Help, support & technical issues.

d) Communication with WBS.

e) Bitching

Ok, if there are anymore suggestions about how the iBurst forum should be subdivided & categorised, please post them here, I would like to have as many divergent suggestions as possible [IMO how we come up with solutions is by thinking outside the box of what we believe to be possible], before drawing RPM's attention to the requests for an iBurst forum mitosis :D.

why the big words IC :D

as Gatecrasher elegantly put it ::::

a) General, Iburst news, product discussions, comparisons, developments etc

b) Current Network status, performance, experiences & problems etc.

c) Help, support & technical issues.

d) Communication with WBS.

i don't know hey. Personally i would want answers from iburst directly all the time so all my post will just end up in the wbs forum. :|
Maybe wbs must participate in all the categories

Nothing to stop them, but it would be nice to have a forum dedicated to users questions to WBS. If well moderated, it would be much better than the current minefield. And they would have very little alternative but to respond, provided the questions are reasonable, constructive, and civil. Who knows we might actually start getting some straight answers...

Just to be proactive, it might be wonderfully cheeky, but highly tactically useful, to - once things are set up and a thoroughly moderated forum established, to email (and then follow up by phone) each of the IBurst Management folks and telling them that they have their own Name and login/password - in order to interact and respond to questions in the forum, as and when they choose to.

At that point one reminds them that also, this Forum represents in the area of 'X' % of their total customer base, and they should be aware that this percentage is going to continue to increase, regardless of their input or not - and the offering of a login/password in a modded Forum, is a courtesy to them, to allow them to be aware of issues and/or respond to problems as they see fit..

(The underlying inference being, that its 'officially' telling IBurst 'we represent a chunk of your customers, and we're consciously being nice to you' - which ought to irritate them immensely, if they're in reality, the cold hearted money grabbing Dark Lords of myth :)

It also demonstrates to them that we are not kiddies, we are courteous, and we potentially can have an impact on their business. (naturally one doesnt rub their nose in this, but the meaning is there, and they'll 'get it'..)

Little birdies tell me that in terms of subscribers, they have around 3000ish - but like to put out that its higher. How many forumites do WE have?
I think we should cheerfully offer registration and l/p to the IBurst Heads, so that they are aware we are a 'voting block' that isn't going away?
Thoughts? :)

Fanbloodytastic. I did the same for my site, and actually got some replies. :)

I'm all for splitting up the forums. I'm wasting precious time wading through the threads looking for titbits of information.
