iBurst Frequency

Hi,

I just want to know if anyone can tell me what Frequency iBurst are using...

Is it GSM based or WiMax (Wireless) based?

If it is GSM based, can you use any GSM modem?

If it is WiMax based, what frequency and how does it compare with other Wireless products like Alvarion 3.5Ghz / Airspan etc etc.

It uses a system called HC-SDMA and is more or less the same as GSM. You can only use an iBurst modem though.

@Michael isn't it 1.9ghz?

Michael is quite correct. 1.79Ghz .. their test stuff (ages ago) was on 2.3GHz

'custom' 802.20 .. was put forward as one of the official 802.20 protocols... but with the drive behind 802.16(wimax) it makes sense why iburst are also looking at that tech...
