Is anyone else having problems with Iburst lately?

My signal drops to nothing a few times a day. And sometimes it disconnects and gets to the verifying password part but fails because the remote computer did not respond.

I am also having problems tonight and it is pissing me off because i am trying to watch streaming videos on www.youtube.com and also trying to download some videos of youtube. My connection did not disconnect but the speed goes to 0 and then the streaming video fails and also the download and I cant resume the download or streaming video. Yesterday I had disconects with the same problem "and gets to the verifying password part but fails because the remote computer did not respond". and I had storms in my area yesterday and tonight. I also read about the thread abouth their helpdesk

Yep, same here in Centurion - the service is so poor, I'm really thinking of trying out HSPDA with my E220 modem, or dance with the devil and get Geldbom ADSL....

iBurst is just REALLY crap lately.

Mine has only been degraded when the storms have started. Which is to be expected I suppose. Otherwise it seems fine.

fine for me... but when lightning strikes I lose connection for about a minute or so...

Cape Town had no stroms...

My connection has disconnected several times this week and speeds are terrible and I’m in the Cape close to tower with external antenna, settings correct etc.

It's just getting worse!

Sentech here we come, they were also voted “broadband” provider of the year….

Michael, as bad as the iBurst service you are getting I think moving to sentech is the last thing you need.

Although, from past experience, Sentech support is very good, and thier accounts department actually know what they're doing. Too bad sentech buggered up thier MyWireless packages.

so glad I am not the only one. I think my modem is female, cause I am getting the silent treatment (remote computer did not respond) for her way too often, then have to restart (disable/enable) my LAN connection, then she's happy again... sorry ladies, figure of speech *ducks* ;)

Yep, same here in Centurion

Where in Centurion are you?

iBurst is getting on my nerves because they have ads plastered all over town but when I go to their coverage map and when I phoned their customer support to ask about coverage there was virtually none.

The best coverage I've seen in Centurion is 100kbps (the level just above poor). What the hell?
