I just installed my iBurst on another computer. But, for 2 days now I can't get it to connect and I think I've tried everything!

The modem works perfectly on other PCs, except this one (where it should work now!). All three lights are on, the second one is nice and green and third red. The iBurst terminal in the system tray picks up the modem and reports 90% signal strength. But, as soon as I try to connect, it freezes on "Connecting through WAN miniport" and after a while it hops to "Error 678: The remote computer did not respond..." I've uninstalled, deleted, swore, reinstalled, rebooted, everything, but nadda. The LAN for the iburst terminal is up and running (with its limited connectivity issues and all)

Any ideas?

PS: It's the iBurst Desktop Modem.

I've never had that error, so unfortunately cannot comment on that.

But why don't you connect via ethernet instead?

Coz this particular PC is sitting on another network as well, where I can't have the iburst modem.

I'm so frustrated!

Hi,

Please see our technicians response:
It sounds like it might be the modem’s USB, computer USB ports or could also be the client Anti Virus of Firewall blocking traffic going out.

As the modem works fine on other computers I would say that the modem is fine. Does the client use the Ethernet cable to connect on the other computers or the USB cable? You could also make sure that the client does not have both the USB and Ethernet cables plugged into the modem and PC at the same time as this will also cause the error 678. You can only use one cable at a time this will be either the Ethernet cable(looks like an over grown telephone port) or the USB cable. Ask the client to test with the Ethernet cable instead of the USB cable to see if this might possibly help the client connect.

After the above this should all be fixed or we will have a better understanding of where the problem might be.

Did you try all the solutions here ?

Yup. Tried every one.

All firewalls and antivirii disabled. Since the last light was red, I connected via USB. And, yes, when using my over grown telephone port (), it connects, but that is not the solution I desire. *sigh* And yes, I know both cannot be connected at the same time

I would try to remove any traces of the iBurst modem. For that I would use a program called TSDC - Total Service and Driver Control to assist, it's free, so no problem using it.

After I made sure that there is nothing left, I'd start from scratch installing the driver etc. Let us know if that works.

I was trying to read this thread seriously, but when I saw this is just died laughing...

To the point: What are the specs of the PC? (Specifically: Operating System, build/version and mobo type)
