make that a coma, as in dead asleep while looking awake...

For the last 3 weeks, iBurst has been falling asleep.

To wake it up, I have to power the router off and on.

Config:
  • External aerial
  • Iburst UTD
  • Gigabyte wireless router WAN port
  • CNet GB switch
  • PC 1
  • PC 2

What's annoying, is that this has worked perfectly before.
If you leave it for 20 mins, all the lights are there, you can browse the lan, but get nothing out of iBurst.

    Suggestions please ?

No real suggestions except try changing your IP by disconnecting from iBurst.
If you have a router then disconnect and then reconnect, this will get you a new IP, if you do not use a router then turn off power to the modem and on again, reconnect and you will have a new IP.

What is happening to you is that you are getting "dying" or "dead" IPs from iBurst, this has happened to quite a few people including myself.

The iBurst team do not seem to know why this happens and to date have not been able to sort it out.

Watch this space!!

By the end of May 2007 iBurst will no longer be as it is now.
Their are busy going into an early retirement.

I bet 5c that they'll be gone and taken over by you know who.

I doubt that as VC only have 10% shares in wbs and wbs have 100% control over iBurst, but they are certainly looking bad right now and don't seem to be able to get their heads out of one anothers butts.

From the people reading these threads I pretty sure iBurst have lost quite a few existing customers as well as plenty possible new customers.......yet they do nothing about improving/fixing the existing system and then have the cheek to try make new offers which are the same old packages anyway.

iBurst coma update

So, for the last 12 hours, I have had iBurst connected via USB directly to this machine, bypassing the wireless router and switch, and it has stayed alive. Perfectly. I have done random searches and queries every 3 hours now, and its just stayed alive.

Weird ?

Makes me wonder if there isn't something in the wireless router someplace..?

maybe you just got bad IPs with the router, try reconnecting the router and use it's software to disconnect and reconnect if an IP "dies".
