In a surprise announcement shortly after their win over Uruguay, Netherlands said that they would be purchasing a controlling share in iBurst. "We were approached by the former CEO, Jannie van Zyl, a few months before the world cup" said the coach van Marwijk. "He felt besides the obvious branding parallels, this could be an exciting synergy between IT and sport. We had some tentative discussions, but backed off when the Blue Label rumours surfaced. Once we had arrived in South Africa and discovered what an amazing country it was and how dedicated the fans were, we thought we should relook our investment opportunities".

Jannie van Zyl was contacted and confirms that indeed this is true: "I was looking for investment ideas and with the pending world cup it was obvious that there must be some way for us to leverage the power of Bronckhorst's boot when it came to solving problems with Telkom backhaul and Seacom downtime. If we were really in a pinch then Sneijder could be deployed to issue headbutts all round" chuckled van Zyl. "I saw great potential for us to employ the tactics in football in our core business. If a billing run failed, we could simply trip over the server power cable and feign until we got a free kick and the customers emphasised with us. I was keen to replace the helpdesk team with a horde of anxious, paranoid and high strung team managers. I was positive this would really drive down our support calls. Sadly I will not be around to see the culmination of this goal, but with the market now flooded with embarrassed managers and players alike I am sure it will be a score for iBurst and customers alike"

MyBroadband was also given the opportunity to see the newly branded gear that was specially designed for the announcement and will be the official shirt for the world cup final. You can see it here: http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showphoto.php?photo=17047

We also scored a big coup in having the seats at the final spray painted orange.

However, reports are that the powers in charge are not happy as they discovered that when you lick an iBurst modem, it tastes better than the goat pee that they serve at the matches as beer.

If you want extra kick, make sure it's plugged in when you do so ;)
