Cross your fingers guys i might be getting iBurst
now all i want to no is what i can expect especially on the gaming and torrent section?:D

Iburst is a good choice, but for torrents and P2P programs, you'll have to get the Unshaped G9 package. All the other packages are shaped. (It's not only Iburst, but all broadband providers have shaped accounts). It all depends on the sources of your torrents. I get about 20 - 30kB/s with 50+ seeds. If you're going to play games, you might as well get the 9Gig package, since you'll be eating those gigs! ;)

He was on MyWireless if I'm not mistaken, he must have a reason for not wanting ADSL.

btw, on the gaming side. RPG's (even international, connection dependant of course) should be fine. The new local warcraft3 server got an upgrade and its really nice now, no lagging even during the day. A bit of in-built delay, but its not like you cant play ;)

FPS, well.. definetely only on local and it depends. A good connection is the key to everything. Actually Quake 3 works well on international even... so it depends I guess.

Oh and toreents, urg. Nothing to do with iBurst but just torrents.. bleh.

I find torrents are fine till you cap...then its a no go, from a gaming side...iburst might not be the best option, depends on what games you're gonna play i suppose

Well iBurst well definitely not be the best option, but it is a fine one if you want to play DOTA local. And many people play WoW and guild wars fine too.

Some even play CS:S and BF2 local, so it might not be a problem. But coming from Sentech im sure you'll at least see an improvement.

atleast it's a better choice than Vodacoms 3g, other than that... games no good ping and lag...

good for Downloading torrents.

Look it depends on your connection and what he wants to play. I actually dont have such a good connection and local battle.net server works really well. NO lag anymore since their upgrade.. I'm always waiting for ADSL guys and other people who lag.

I've even played some international FPS and it was sort of okay.. a bit too much lag to really play, but international Quake 3 can be fine.

I dont think you can say it is no good though.

Well guys i do want to play fps but i"m actually a soccer person and i used to play call of duty on sentech and it was not that bad so i guess it will be better on iburst. And as for adsl i cant wait that long for a connection and atleast with iBurst they dont cut your off once your are capped.

Hi Project X.

You say u a soccer person.Does that mean you wanna play FIFA or Pro Evolution online ? .Ive got a 1GB package.Ive got a strange problem when Pro Evolution 5 playing online. The lag is bad in the 1st half. Then in the 2nd half its fine.

lol, um 1st half lags worse? Sounds like a problem with the game almost..

I'll try playing Pro Evo some time and see how it works.

Umm ..

Iam not that stupid.Of cause the game works fine.

Ja, not saying its something to do with you.. but weird that the game wouldn't work well for the first half... I mean theres absolutely no difference...

Yip - very strange. Its dam annoying cause i can never win a game.Always conceed 4 to 5 goals in the 1st half. Then i have to try come back. Most of the time i lose.

I wish there was an option for a Proxy so i could route the UDP ports thru the Proxy. This would bypass the port shaping

You do get programs that can apparently route anything through a proxy.

Like sockscap.. but that only works for socks. Might work for you though, if you use a socks proxy.
