iBurst in Somerset West

Greetings

Does anyone on the forums have iBurst in Somerset West - I see the coverage has gone live... :confused:

Im hoping to get iBurst cuz the ADSL backlog in my area is months.. Even a conneckie I have on the inside cant help me to speed up the process!!

Ive heard/read a load of good things about iBurst.. but a shyte load of bad stuff aswell!?!?

How quickly do they come out to do a signal test and install?

any feedback much appreciated
 
it took them a few days to send me the modem and have my account connected,not sure about a signal test though and all the bad things will depend on the area and tower as most of them are from where people have problems with the towers, I've had Iburst for 2 months now and have never had a connection problem or something like that:D

The Tower is situated in Strand, and only covers certain areas of Somerset West, you should get a covergae test by a reseller before signing up, just in case you are outside the coverage area
 
got the signal test done... and about 10 min later i had iBurst installed and paid for...

good service by one of their resellers..

everything is sorted.. I got a wireless ADSL router plugged into the iBurst modem so my whole house is wireless connected! SORTED!! :p

one small problem though.. I cant send email?? SMTP not working?

I can receive pop3 ...

?? Any ideas ??

Do i need to change something in Outlook...
 
you need to set your smtp to smtp.wbs.co.za, as thats the only smtp permitted by WBS

Thats weird because I just got IBurst myself yesterday and my email is working fine? I have a Hetzner hosted email account, linked to website of same domain.

WBS does make exeptions to certain people/companies
 
i added the smtp server and it worked fine for a few hours

now i cant send or receive any email?

it says "cant contact server" like theres no net access
 
right smtp for gmail?

Got a friend with gmail address only. I set up pop for her to load into Outlook. I got no joy (timeouts) with smtp.wbs.co.za but smtp.gmail.com seems to work.

Its the first gmail/outlook I have set up and definitive help would be appreciated. All smtp's except wbs 'should' be blocked. Communication with gmail is still very slow.
 
yea i got my own server and i also use gmail... all should go into my Outlook..

how do i sort this out? Its silly that WBS blocks everything? :mad:
 
K i got it working.. It the difference between SSL with Gmail and WBS...

iBurst not excepting other smtp servers is bull... a little fine print they dont tell u..

I send out mass newsletters for zoopedup.com... what will i do now.. sigh
