Iburst Internet performance

Hi I have been having a problem for a while now and any help would be appreciated. when connected with Iburst the speed is great then it stops and suddenly it goes again a full speed.

So when loading web pages it will just sit until i get a message from Chrome asking me if i want to kill the page or wait. If i reset my Iburst USB modem it goes back to full speed.

My first thought was a virus or malware so i have run numerous scans with Avast, Malwarebytes and Spybot and nothing serious to report.

I am running XP Home SP3 avast is the only virus program running on startup and i access the internet with Chrome 17.0.963.46 m. I live in the Krugersdorp area.

Anybody else experiencing similar problems? Any help will be appreciated.

I had a simular problem back in Oct last year when i first joined iburst, my iburst terminal kept on reflecting at all times bytes been downloaded, everything else inc browsing was a pain, i then downloaded Comodo Firewall and all was fine, not exactly the same problem as yours but might help.

That is typical behavior IMO. It looks like the DNS request to the site might be timing out. You could try assigning static DNS servers (open DNS) to your network port and see if that helps you. Otherwise technical support is the best place for you ATM.

I'm having the same issue, constant disconnections but it will stay connect for while before disconnecting... using a Mac
