Hi guys,

I have been unable to visit a lot of international websites with my iburst desktop modem the whole of thursday, is anyone else having problems?

Oh, don't forget local sites (mybroadband, news24). I never knew boredom until my internet stopped functioning... Can iBurst be sued for loss of income? Passing the buck?

and just another reason why I'm gonna switch to Cell C, iBurst have really stagnated and have gone from leading edge when they originally started to just another also ran, nothing new, nothing innovative and just fallen behind the times :(

Is it just me or have the problem with iburst become more frequent since Jannie left? And Thabo took over as CEO?

I dont think so, they just been unlucky. They switched over to new upstream this month, and unfortunatly Seacom went down at same time. Bad timing. Seems Seacom is still abit congested from the fibre cut from yesterday. I think we just need to be abit more patient, hopefully things will normalise over the weekend.

I had same issue on Screamer Wimax and IS last night and it still abit shacky this morning :P

There seems to be alot of improvements lately, just need to be a bit more patient. They redid their website, they working on improving their upstreams and puttying their base stations on fibre and there seems to be a surprise in January to help improve latencies for WoW and probably other online games.

I agree. He was a Chief Executive Officer as well as a Customer Experience Officer ;) ... At the very least Jannie was on the forum and responded to problems directly. He was also constantly in myBB news (good things). When last did we hear anything from this new Ceo?

These new kids are just sipping their coffee and waiting for their supposed upstream provider to fix the problem.

PS: Been struggling for ~30 mins now to post this.

Diegoa tell my clients who have not had mail or internet for 3 days to calm down and be patient not to mention they are paying around 7k for a service that is suppose to have a 99% uptime.

I have had no down time with afrihost (who uses mainly seacom), so using seacom as an excuse is just plain bulll****

I'm stil lhaving a lot of erratic problems my side - same area as Diegoa. I'm just shattered to see on the Cell C map that Weltevreden Park isn't covered. Now I really am stuck with iBurst and its snail speeds.... *sob* Hell, it's almost 2011...I'm tired of taking three, four hours to download a 200 MB file... I so wanted to be able to migrate to a faster service. And now this... Urk.

same problem i have my iburst conection was great when i first moved to welties (0.8-1Mbps), now im getting half of that,

@ the two last posters - if you've got good cellc edge coverage, you should be able to get download speeds of between 0.12Mbps and 0.22Mbps which should be sufficient for just web browsing and email.

Best to do is to get a prepaid cellc SIM, top it up with some bandwidth and try it out, compare it to iBurst.

At my work we only have a CellC EDGE signal, but it have very good transfer rates, 4-5 bar EDGE signal on the E1820 router, 0.22Mbps transfer rate max. Same place, also iburst signal, but it is not stable.
