I've sorta been keeping tabs on my IP lately and find it mostly starts with:
196.46.67.xxx or 196.46.69.xxx
But I need to know what the whole range is for the last 2 entries.
Do I assume it starts at "0" and covers the whole of both ranges with "67" and "69" as the 2nd last entry, and "67" and "69" the only digits that are used for those entries?
Thanks for the reply but to make sure I guess I better call wbs as my IPs' have always had 196.46.67 or 69.xxx
What I need to know is what is the IP alloted to me when I connect likely to be if the first 2 or 3 entries are always the same, eg: 196.46. 67 or 69.
The reason I need to know the whole range that I'm likely to have alloted to me at any time is that I have joined a private forum and they want to block all the IP ranges that I am NOT likely to be on.
I thought it would be better to ask here as if I call wbs helpdesk I'll probably a "huh whats that" sort of answer, or the incorrect info.
Since CT has a separate core network and peering points, it is very likely that the IP range there is different from Jnb, Pta and probably Dbn. That would explain why you see IP's outside the range Crash posted.
