I've been playing DotA on the SA server for a while now and have, intermittently, had an excellent experience doing so. Recently though I've had considerable problems - lagging out of DotA games with about 80% likelyhood over the course of 10 days.

I've looked all over for all kinds of fixes. Switched from using Router, Ethernet or USB connections, upgraded router firmware, fiddled with DrTCPIP, etc etc - to no avail.

Details: I use
*iBurst wireless
*Desktop modem
*Linksys WRT54G router
*XP(sp2)

I've got a brilliant connection to tower 3 in Pretoria (rated 10/10 "Unnaturally Good, signal strength of -60, etc) - my download speeds and internet experience are brilliant.

But my DotA games lag out most of the time (sometimes 10ish minutes, sometimes 20ish, sometimes 30ish, whatever).

In desperation I've created a SSH server on my own PC tunneled into it using BitVise Tunnelier and created a Socks5 proxy for the tunnel then used Proxifier to route Warcraft via the tunnel so I can keep a closer tab on what it is doing.

What I found out was that when a lagged out of games that some connections to the other players had error code 10060 (timed out) - but some connections had error code 10061 (connection refused).

This is the best I've been able to do up to now.

Does anybody else experience similar problems? Does anybody have ideas on how to solve it?

(...yes, their tech people are working on it, and yes, they claim their base station is not at fault...)
