Another reason NOT to get iBurst.

Since it the Christmas season I've had a little time to download things using P2P.
About a week ago I noticed all P2P downloads came to a complete stop.
Normally it was just throttled during the day. But now its KILLED completely.

Testing using Glasnost confirm it.

Where does iBurst get off killing P2P. I have uncapped 2Mb line, their "premium" wireless package for home users. And they still feel they have the right to do this?

Counting down the days till I can cancel my contract!

Have seen the same thing here in Nelspruit. Luckily we are on a month to month contract and will be voting with our feet if this continues. Debit order will be stopped at the bank knowing Ibursts reputation

Cancellation

Cancelled mine on the 3 of December, January should be my last month if all goes well

I am sitting with the exact same problem here, noticed it on the 21 Dec. I've been busy with the techs on the phone since then, according to them they don't know that there is a problem, even going as far as asking me to send them a wireshark capture.

Just a fyi to anyone having the problems with torrents and other p2p functions: Iburst is not allowed to deny ANY network types, and if they say its stipulated in the customer contract that they can implement any network policy at their own discretion, they are WRONG. South African ISP's have a legal mandate to remain Net neutral; they are not allowed to block or filter types of network connections as it would amount to a form of censorship.

I'm not going to try fight with them or even try contact customer support. I know I'll be given the run around.

My contract is up in Feb or March. Their offices are near my work, so I'll personally deliver my cancellation notice and hope that goes well.

In the mean time I'll see what I can find to work around them. Nzb or Torrent Burst? Will check it out. Thanks.

Leaving iBurst was one of the best decisions I ever made. I highly recommend others to make your feelings on their service delivery felt by simply not paying for their nonsense any further - cancel those contracts / dont renew etc.

i find restarting my router to do the trick. but that might be cause it kills the connection and then recreates it....

I also tried that, bit it only works for awhile after short period it goes back to nothing.- I wish Iburst would get their act together.
