We are really battling this last while.
Many websites are inaccessible, even Google at times.
POP3 retrieval from international not happening.
iBurst site itself sometimes doesn't load.
(Their stupid speed test stopped working a long time ago when they added that VoIP test - can't get the speed test to work any more)

Is it international, the weather . . . Anyone else battling ?

Kyalami area.

If they blame the weather then they're lying to you
If they blame your location when the service worked perfectly before they're lying to you
If they blame fairy dust sparkled up in the atmosphere causing a rift in the time space continuum and because the tree in front of your house got hit by lighting and shows signs of intelligent life (it walking around), commend them on the attempt to lie to you and just GET ADSL. :)

I'm confused on the MTU response, Ivan. Did I miss something ?

WebAfrica - clicked link, timeout - www.webafrica.co.za is taking too long to respond.
ADSL, hmmnn - part of the reason for going iBurst was because "they" couldn't steal the cables . . . and there's no copper for the lightning to use. I would go 3G if there was coverage.

Other than that iBurst has been doing fine for quite a while.
Just recently - after that "main-ten-ance" that things are really kr@p.

I'm sorry, I can be such an idiot sometimes..

I'm sorry I made a joke, I was hoping you would git it and laugh...

How long have you had these problems?
Have you finished/blown your cap?
Is it clowdy/raining?

My iBurst was fine when I was using it this morning (6am), anyone else having issues?

:) :) No probs with the MTU comment - I was merely wondering if there was anything else to the comment. I never bother calling the helpdesk if there is something amiss - their responses are pathetic, MTU, re-install etc.
I normally pop over here to see if there's anyone else having issues - something common, like International down country-wide etc.

Nope to the cap, yes it's cloudy and it started going south after maintenance on the 22nd. Could be co-incidence or that a nearby tree grew larger due to all the wonderful rain we've been having - I've not got any line-of-sight to a tower.

More on this - today it's really pathetic . . . until I recognised a pattern.
Not getting to google.com was throwing me off, but, we cannot access ANY secure site.
No transacting for us today.

Tried calling Helpdesk to check what message they are playing this time . . .
. . . They are aware of problems accessing certain websites and general slow browsing.
Didn't chat to anyone though, not prepared to hang on that long.

after the lighting storm on thursday, my Inet became uncapped/unshapped... after the lightninng storm on sat/sunday I'm capped :( but I can still access everything pretty quickly... only downloads are limited to 8K...

I live in the Kyalami area as well and had the same problems. I called them and they just directed me to run that Dr TCP application and change a few settings, and the problem was gone.

I was going mad not being able to access Facebook :D

I'd do anything to get unshaped...

Can you tell me what/where the lightening hit, perhaps this phenominon can be reproduced..?

I am here, iBurst "fine" my side decent browsing / download speeds... https - an issue though. Currently on Telkom as backbone ISP - no longer Verizon or IS.

Best to email: [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected] all in one email with as much detail, e.g. pings, screenshots of browsing speed etc.

Since Sunday morning iBurst couldn't connect through my router at all, won't assign an IP. Same for a friend of mine, we thought iBurst was completely dead, but it connects through straight Ethernet.

I still can't get anything through the router and my connection is almost useless without the router. :/

But it also seems okay besides this, probably slower than normal though but no timeouts yet.
