Is anybody else experiencing problems with sending mail? I can receive but when I try to send it will not accept my password and when I test the connection I get errors like "no encrypted port available on email server".

I have tried with IE9, Windows Live Mail and Thunderbird and all have the same problem. The Helpdesk is unable to help as they say they have no problem. I have checked my network connections and can find no problem on my side.

The same password is accepted by Iburst for my Internet connection without any trouble.

Thanks,

Dave

Same problem here since August last year. Can received mails with no issue, but cannot send.
I actually gave up sending iBurst e-mails and constantly phoning Helpdesk about the issue and just got a Gmail account.

If you are using smtp.iburst.co.za as your mail server you shouldn't need a password. Make sure the port is 25 and authentication and encryption are disabled.

Thanks ginggs that solved my problem.
Curious how things suddenly go wrong when nothing has been changed.

I encounter "554 SMTP synchronization error" from time to time. It goes away again after several retries.
