iburst MTU or DNS Issues

I am having serious issues resolving websites lately. for some reason i am simply unable to load http://www.jquery.com (and loads of other sites ie: http://dribbble.com/eduardo), i always get the Gateway Timeout error. this lead me to think that it might be either DNS or MTU settings.

My current router settings:

Obtain DNS Automatically
MTU:1352

I have tried various MTU settings, but anynthing over 1352 and i am not able to ping jquery.com. so i am sticking to 1352 (at least that allows me to ping)

i also tried various different dns servers, but to no avail.

does anyone have any suggestions.

I have had teribble speeds in the alberton area since last two months. I have reset my router. Then re installed the OS on my PC and still speeds are horendous. It seems like there is serious DNS problems my side too.

It's easy to check if it's a DNS issue:

$ nslookup www.jquery.com
Server:		127.0.1.1
Address:	127.0.1.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:	www.jquery.com
Address: 70.32.120.34

$ nslookup dribble.com
Server:		127.0.1.1
Address:	127.0.1.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:	dribble.com
Address: 74.220.199.8

DNS resolves fine.

The only correct MTU for iBurst is 1392 (and 1364 for VPN over iBurst), it's not something you should have to tweak.

does anyone have any suggestions.

I can't access those sites either. I think it's a routing or proxy issue and will have to be reported to iBurst.
