Just wanted to quickly say I'm seriously impressed with iBurst so far. I signed up during this week where I understand they were moving offices and although there were some initial hiccups (signed up on Friday morning and was only online on Monday), the consultant still contacted me this morning to make sure everything was ok.

Rooi also organised a Senior Engineer to contact me personally regarding my problems setting up iCall.

The guy in the Menlyn store was extremely helpful and checked my 2nd hand modem for me when I didn't have an account yet - even though he didn't get anything for it (no sale).

I was also informed that even though I got my full bandwidth allocation for June, my bill will be pro-rated since I only signed up halfway through the month.

I haven't had a disconnect since I started using the service and although it might not be the fastest over peak times and early evening, it keeps on working. Neotel / 3G would have had about 3 - 5 disconnections during this time.

Every morning I get my bandwidth report - something that Neotel couldn't do in the 2 years that I was with them.

Hopefully I won't experience the billing problems or the disconnections that was reported by other members, but then it will still be better than Neotel!

Which Neotel package were you on? I have to decide between Neotel or iBurst and my biggest problem is the max speed on iBurst is 1Mbps.

I was on Prime 2.5 for R400 p/m. When Neotel worked, it was faster than iBurst - definitely. If you still want to go Neotel - specifically the Prime service - I have a Neotel Prime device available for sale. Would save you R80 per month and allow you to use a Month-to-month contract from Neotel. Will give it to you for R500.

I too was very impressed by the menlyn store the 2 times I've been there.

iBurst added "Usage as at:" tag to the BW monitor.
This tag lets the user know when was the last read of the usage/TopUp (alternatively, when the system is down)

Thanks, the competition is between Neoflex 15GB and iBurst Wireless 15. Neotel leading with price and speed at the moment, although I've seen it mentioned a few times on the forum that you can combine 2 iBurst modems to increase speed. If I get that working odds are I'll go the iBurst route, regardless of price/speed...

This only helps if you are access the net with multiple threads, i.e. multiple downloads or torrents. However, there are alot of hiccups using the modems in a load balancer, like Rapidshare going bananas.
