Hmmm 20 cases of beer for the one who got iBurst to send out news letters to their clients. hip hip hoeray ... hip hip hoeray ... nigge hip hip ..... :D

Well done iBurst .. for actually communicating with your clients. :p

but as all good things need to come to an end  ... will we be getting more news letters in the future ?? or is this just a once off propaganda letter

How bout launching more customer surveys and actually report back on the news letters with the outcome of the survey ....

or better ... get some "propaganda" "public relations" guy to sit and look what we are asking and saying on the forum ....

But anyways ...

im glad to see that iburst is not just a money eating dragon

Dear Valued Subscriber,

While many South Africans are familiar with the unparalleled reliability of iBurst
that has seen thousands of subscribers continuously connected to our network for
months at a time, few people realize this reliability is due to iBurst's wireless
broadband network being built on 4G technology.

This quote below from InfoWorld.com makes for interesting reading for anyone who
ever considered using anything less than 4G to access the web:

"ArrayComm - founded by Marty Cooper, the man credited with inventing the cellphone
while he worked at Motorola - also believes that end-to-end IP over the air is the
goal of 4G. And ArrayComm appears to be ahead of the 4G promises and hype with its
iBurst technology. 'Billions of dollars were spent building the infrastructure for
the Internet. iBurst is transparent to IP and hooks up directly into the Internet to
handle data transparently,' Cooper said."

Other good reasons to choose iBurst include our rapidly-expanding coverage area
which is bringing reliable wireless broadband to thousands of South Africans for the
first time. Over the past month iBurst base stations have increased to over 80,
subscribers have increased to some 23 000 South Africans and coverage has expanded
to almost a dozen new towns and suburbs. We recently launched a network in Port
Elizabeth, finally giving us coverage in the Eastern Cape.

Finally, look out for iBurst during the screening of the first Survivor South
Africa. Our sponsorship of this landmark show in the Survivor series will take
iBurst and its valued subscribers to new heights as more South Africans realize that
true broadband can be delivered to them within 48 hours.

Thank you once again for choosing iBurst. We plan to provide you with more reasons
why selecting iBurst's 4G technology was one of your better decisions!

Warm regards,

The iBurst Team

And the current score is:

Iburst "valued subscribers" 1
Iburst "non valued subsribers" 4

I will accept the 20 cases of beer.(amstel please)

Well its not the greatest newsletter.. more like marketing.

But if they actually update us on events and ideas etc over this it would be great.

non valued subscribers +1

Hey! I get all the other crap via email...why not the newsletter? :(

And yeah, some stats on the survey would be great!

I'm also a 'non-valued' customer, haven't received any mail from iBurst.

Maybe I don't moan enough cause I also never recieved that news letter.

Hmm, 23,000 subscribers of which probably 20,000 have debit orders, and since they seem to be doing the debiting manually no wonder they have still not got around to doing mine this month.:D

Some communication is better than no communication. And that is about the best thing I can say about this pile of bs.

Maybe they'd like to redirect some of their advertising and sponsership budget into giving us some value-for-money.

4Mbps ADSL is making Iburst look decidedly retro.

4G Technology? Really, I hadn't noticed.

Surely this is something you send out to prospective customers. Existing customers want good solid reasons not to bail.

Gatecracher...full on support for you!

I was hoping that this letter would've told me about the new services they are bound to supply us with. Bloody hell man, If this 4mB/s thing is working I'm actually prepared to pay R1000+ for REAL Broadband internet! And the Survivor sponsorship and getting new cuzzies, flip! my tower can't even support me!

But yes, I have received my letter and I'm glad to see that they still have me on their mailing list.

It was a piece of marketing crap! Who cares if they sponsor survivor? My tower has got a load of "3" and is now dog slow.

IBurst if you don't get your act together, then as soon as NeoTel starts offering my area ADSL, your modem is going to be a door stop!

Modem is too light for that. You gonna have to find a different use.
