I please need some help. I am trying to share iBurst connection in my house between my desktop and my laptop via a wireless router. My desktop is a Win XP PC and the laptop is a Mac.

It seems I can only connect one pc at a time on the iBurst server, as soon as I log on one the other one is immediately disconnected. I am using a iBurst VoIP phone/modem. It connects via a LAN cable to the pc.

Can I use internet sharing on the PC and have the Mac access the internet via the wireless router? If so, how?

Is a possible alternative to get a separate account for the Mac? Will I be able to make 2 connections via the modem?

Thanks for reading.

Depending in your wireless router, if it has a WAN port you can connect the iburst modem to the router and connect with both computers to the router to access the internet.

I don't know how the iBurst VoIP phone/modem works, but I doubt its too different from the others.

Don't know the VOIP phone/modems, but if it works similar to the table top modems it should be quite easy to configure.

I'm sure others might have better skills in explaining, but the gist would be:

Do you have a LAN/WAN capable Wifi router? If so, configure the WAN side for PPPoE using your iBurst login details.

Set your router to issue DHCP IP addresses, and connect your PC's and MAC's to the WiFi network using the default DHCP settings - it should set the gateway etc automatically.

DO NOT USE THE iBURST SOFTWARE ON ANY COMPUTER FOR THIS SETUP!

The networking is achieved using the router's own capabilities.

Could not agree more.
Had the same issue initially when I got my iBurst modem about 3 years ago.
Until I figured out how to set it up as outlined by kaspaas.
Since then, happily sharing to multiple pc's and laptops via LAN and Wireless...
