Iburst P2P Communities

slimothy O stinky pot, the name of the game is sharing, and enjoying sharing - not supplying what adolescent dirty kitchen utensils like yourself think is 'good' or 'cool'.
You're not sharing coz you're a shop desperate for customers (gee maybe YOU are) - you're sharing coz you want to spread what you enjoy, around - a concept maybe too advanced for an obviously rather overused cooking appliance like yourself :)

and now?

Pan, I just checked quickly - I got into the hub no prob.. so it is there and going, the experts around might be able to help u with whatever's going on..
A thought, have you set up your 'shared folder'? ie: at least 1 gig of stuff to share? If you hadnt - that might have something to do with what looks like an auto-disconnect from the Hub..?

Keep getting this error - nay suggestions?

lonegunman I realise we aren't the best of friends, but one thing you shoudl realise is if you share obscure stuff less people have it, the less peopel that have it the less sources you can download from, the less sources you can download from the slower the speed. I'm just saying from our past experience, its better when people share stuff lots of people want, more general titles, of course if the file is obscure and small then i'm sure someone will like it, liek those tripping the rift eps i got off iBursters last time.

if you have trouble connecting, its most likely a dynamic/static dns (?) prob. In settings, if you are active, you are going to need to sign up an account at something like www.no-ip.com and enter your "address" as your ip. Else, go passive.

I realize this is garbled - nab, slim, anyone care to ungarble/add/correct

ok, i finnaly got it, but then couldnt connect to anyone (figured with my firewall to try get it right, no joy.) this bites, lets get a torrent site going. ill offer free hosting:P

I was connected, but since the hub was restarted I can't get back in - it says connected but it doesnt do anything after that. I have dynamic dns and I tried passive as well.

Well, I didn't have any problems once I'd fiigured out the min/max thing. I used Shareaza's TCP and UDP ports which are already enabled in my firewall. Just need a lot more people on the site. Also, I gotta sift through my hard drives and figure what I can share...

No problems @ home (took modem home)
I sure there will be at work but thats just a different problem

Try this if dc hub is giving hassels

It is vital that you do not use passive unless you have no choice. For starters make sure your firewall is giving some love! I can't be specific here cos everyone's setup is different. Next if you have a dynamic dns client, make sure it has updated. (to find out more about a dynamic dns PM me). Under connection settings in DC++ make sure you have selected active and placed ur dynamic ip link address in there (the address your registered at the dynamic ip site) then leave the ports (tcp and udp) blank. then connect to the hub and enjoy! Note if you can't connect to the hub @ ibust.kicks-ass.net or can't see anyone try adding :8080 to the address so it reads ibust.kicks-ass.net:8080

You will need to stay up late speeds are great after 1am and even better after 2am

Nab. You mentioned raising the share requirement to 5GB. Clarify. I think if you want to attract as large a group of Ibursters as possible, you need to be more lenient. You can have 5GB of "goodies" or 5GB of "white noise". What's more important is whether a user is actually leeching or not. Wouldn't a max d/l:u/l ratio be better?

Yeah, give us a chance. :P (I have 6-7GB shared and gowing). A big cache of shareable stuff takes time, you know.

gatecrasher - u wrote 'You can have 5GB of "goodies" or 5GB of "white noise".
Nicely put - but I'm still a fan of diversity of goodies. So 'white noise' has its place, as one persons 'white noise' is another's 'Kaya FM' (or 5FM)
:P
Re minimum shares, I think everyone should just share what they can, up to/over the Hub minimum - and as the Hub isnt a specific interest only, let that be whatever folks like to share. Where's the fun in sharing stuff you don't like?
Sharing is a charity thing after all. I personally like seeing other peoples 'white noise' - its like a jumble sale - you never know what you're gonna find..

Guys if the connection goes well it will take no less than a couple of days for everyone to get ur 1 gig of stuff. The aim is to grow the shares not share some small amount of trash everyone already has. The min share on the biggest dc hubs is 100gigs period. Don't worry about 5gigs of noise, anyone doing that will get kicked!

How about this. The share will stay at 1gig for now. If things hot up the main hub will go up and a second will be created to cater for the 1 giger's
