iBurst Phone

VOIP has been legal in SA since Feb 2005 iirc.

Then that crap in MTN's terms & conditions about charging R23.xx/MB if you use VOIP due to regulations is utter bull. It's like your ISP telling you what websites you can and can't go to... none of their damn business what I use the internet for.

Well, it's about 90% of their business if you use MTN internet for making calls which you might have done on their network instead. :P

But if they want to offer an internet service, they should do it properly.

They can't offer two different services, and then try and restrict you on the one because it's in competition with the other.

Isn't it on the front page of the iBurst site?

EDIT: Yep...

No the phone in the IB homepage is the Linksys IP phone. Native is referring to the iBurst VOIP phone, aka UTV, it will be released soon to the best of my knowledge. It is essentially a desktop modem, with phone/handset built in, not sure if it is/will be software locked, but you should be able to use it with any SIP service. Very nice unit, once configured you plug in and dial, ethernet to the PC or network, and the phone becomes your dialout handset. With iCall you can phone anywhere using that as well.
