Hey Guys,

I need a temp solution for internet access. 3G is way to expensive...

So, since it looks like I have nice coverage where I stay, I thought I might get prepaid Iburst.

1. So, you get the starter pack.
2. Buy prepaid data.
3. You are connected.

The thing is, did you guys see the pricing on the prepaid data?

750mb @ R500 and then after that, it's R500 for 3.3GB? I can't get my head around this at all.

Don't get the prepaid data. I would suggest you buy the modem upfront, and get a month-to-month data package. Only downside to this is that the upfront modem price is ridiculous.

I queried their sales about the prices when my adsl line was down, and they didn't even bother to respond. Stick to 3g

Prepaid internet is pretty much like that with all the ISPs. The one nice thing about iBurst is there is no real difference between a 24 month contract and a month-to-month package. I'd recommend you sign up for the month-to-month package so you have the freedom to cancel at your will (provided you give 30 days notice).

Just buy a modem and check existing data package for mtn, voda and 8ta. Purchase it and that's it.

I have a modem for iburst but their prepaid package is very expensive.

Just a question but R500 for 3Gb data on iBurst is not really cheap when compared to 3G. It is actually almost exactly the same as a 3G prepaid data bundle.
3Gb from FNBConnect will cost you R520.

Ans if I am not mistaken this bundle is valid for a year. So you don't have to use it up in a month like most other packages.
