iBurst reception.

So I recommended iBurst to a friend who stays in Triomf (Sophiatown - Johannesburg) .

But we decided to test the signal 1st... so I took my desktop modem, hooked it up, and was shocked to find that in a densely populated suburban area I got no more than 5% signal. I did however manage to connect and I tried to browse to www.google.co.za... but 2 hours later (literally) it was still "waiting for www.google.co.za"

So will an external antenna work in this case? or am I wasting my time by trying to promote iBurst to my friends?

Correct the coverage in that part of town is not good, as can be seen above.

The coverage map is based on a signal measured 0.5m above the ground with a USB modem. Sometimes it is possible to improve the signal by using an antenna and placing it higher (either on a pole or building) This requires a proper survey.
