Hi all,

I know there is a RSS feed on the myADSL pages ... any way to customise the RSS link to only show iBurst threads?

Thanks

there are some pretty good non-web based aggregators that you can use

google -> rss aggregator

or if RPM just makes the RSS feed compatible with firefox live bookmarks you can use that to filter out results

I stopped using RSS feeds in FireFox a while back and only use ThunderTweety as my RSS feed reader, but the MyADSL's RSS feeds worked perfectly in Firefox back then, why do you say it isn't compatible with Firefox now?

RSS is an xml based content syndication feed. MyADSL's RSS can be found here:

http://www.mybroadband.co.za/myadsl/rss.php

Have a look at it in your browser and you should see a bunch of xml. This can be viewed in stand-alone RSS readers or in programs like Firefox and Thunderbird which have support for RSS. It allows you to view the latest headlines or content of a site without opening the site in your browser.

Other uses are to display another sites headlines on your site or to create sites specifically for aggregating all sites relating to a specific topic. For example Planet Apache is a site that displays all the latest content from sites about the Apache Web Server. Blogs usually all have a RSS feed available.

Slim, IC , anybody...plz educate me :)
BP, in Firefox 1.0.3, click Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks -> File -> New Livemark, in the dialogbox that appears, enter the following in Feed Location:
Code:

well it'd be easier if someone would just add the rss feed to a meta tag

a simple google or wikipedia lookup would have really made things easier for you, cheap rollerball.

LOL @ cheap rollerball, but let's not criticise BP for choosing to use a cheap pen - if it works it works :D

I wonder why no one has registered ClutchPencil as their nick of choice...?

IC :thats awesome!!! Firefox is the bestest!!!
Yep, Firefox is gr8, but I switched to using ThunderBird as my RSS feed reader app - the only reason is that it marks the individual feed items as having been read when you open them - like reading emails...;)

IC, can you filter the threads in Thunderbird to only see the iBurst ones?
