I have to admit.
Iburst started off a bit shakey but , any new company would I guess.
But in the last 2 or three months their service department have improved a bit.
I had a problem. They did the standard routine to fix the error. After not solution they phoned a few time and what ever they did fixed my problem..

Thank you Iburst.......

I hope things just get better.....

I fully agree with Acidkid. I emailed the helpdesk twice in the last few weeks, and everytime I received a reply back before the end of the day.

Thanks iBurst for great speed from the helpdesk.........now to increase the speed we get from the towers!!

yeah service sure is imporving but the speed is starting to look very meek against teleskums 4Mbps connection...

come on Iburst any news of say a 2Mbps or even a 4Mbps for that matter?

Time to called IBURST the TRUE BROADBAND no?

No !!! They cant be called broadband as long as there are caps. And as long as
you cannot play games online properly.

I wonder if you'll ever be able to play FPS online games via wireless - the lantency will always be an issue?

Actually broadband has nothign to do with caps, its about the bandwidth. Whethers its limited.. um dont know really, but many countries have caps I dont think it makes their internet broadband.

ANd online gaming also isnt much of a consideration, not for most people at least. Internet services can be made for different people/interests without being called narrowband..

But FPS should be possible with Wi-Max, apparently, if the technology lives up to the hype. ANd at the moment you can definately game with Iburst, everyone with Iburst that I know does game, but not FPS, just rpg's etc..
I even played some international FPS a while back, used to do it regularly, wasnt *too* bad, but I would rather not.

we've got something on the gaming side coming....can't go into the detail, so don't ask....and if we are able to make it happen, its going to be great!

Ed, you're getting me all 'jiggy' here - you better tell us fast what is this 'gaming thingie' coming from iBurst, otherwise I'm gonna get in my car and come & pay you a visit!

Maybe it's time to dust-off my Quake4 DVD?

I had a look at Iburst in Oz, no news on speed there either, so any increase could still be a long way off. I couldn't find any clarity as to whether 1Mbps is a hardware limitation, or whether an eventual increase in speed could come about through a firmware upgrade. Nothing on the Arraycom and Kyocera sites, and everything else I read is hearsay.

hey this sounds great, thanks Ed. Even though my gaming is fine at the moment, but thats because I ONLY play battle.net.

If you guys get a server up or decrease latency it would be great, but Id just end up busting my cap on FPS..

please don't tell me it's another "For an extra +-R500 you will be able to play any game you want with this $$$ Package"

Quiet frankly why won't you remove the whole shaping... Would it not add to your benefit that users are wasting their cap on whatever they want to do with their packages?

As I mentioned before this service is starting to look meek against a 4Mbps connection so why not counter it with an increase in cap? with the added unshapped connection??

just my 2c use it lose it. It's your customers you will be loosing in the end!

I totally agree. but i dont think gaming is shaped anyway btw. People can play while uncapped but cant after the cap, so it o\bviously isnt limited to 64kb on gaming ports.

And i dont think Iburst will have a new package for gaming. its not realyl their style, but I thats just what I feel. They have never realyl had special packages.
maby the will simply lower latency somehow, but that is hardly gaming specififc, so an Iburst hosted gaming server? I dont know.. otherwise it could only be an account.
make it a VAS atleast, im not going to pay for it..

The only reason ppl prefer adsl for gaming is because of the latency. Since it's wireless, I can't see how they can improve on that, unless the latency international improves, but then that will improve for most isp's. it will probably be a local server.

and yeah, i wouldn't pay for it. thought i doubt they would do that, since he posted here and most ppl here are already on contract.

all in all, i think that's the best line you have posted on here Ed...:)

Ja, I also just meant international latency, kind of like that Nuke-Cap gaming packages you get, they promise good international latency.

I must say a local server would be great, I'd be on there, but what would they host, and depending on that it would cost them quite a bit, unless they plan to use advertising i dont know if its that viable to lose profits on a gaming server.

A 10% discount for Iburst subscribers on all PC games at Incredible Connection. October only.

I dunno. I can feel the disappointment in my bones already. Hope I'm wrong.

ROFL. I damn well hope so...

Naah, it cant be that bad, the worst thing could be that we have to pay for it, in which case I wont be getting it.. whatever it may be.

But VAS and not specialised packages seem to be Iburst's thing, so tell us if this evers gets done Ed.
