It seems iBurst is having issues with their SMTP server again - all mails sent out on 196.46.70.2 / mail-01.cpt.wbs.co.za is not being delivered timeously. - With no warning of delay or failure.

Using my own SMTP server!

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

I switched from using iBursts' SMTP server ages ago and never looked back. It hardly ever worked properly.

I have no problem not logging into it myself, but other people know the address, it will take a while to change to something else.

GMail this time :/

I tried once to get the SMTP up and running, and it was too slow for me, so I just use GMail.

A couple of months ago, GMail said they can check other POP accounts and download it for you to your GMail folder. It was in a trial phase, so not all GMail accounts got it enabled.

Well I don't mind which free provider I use. Hotmail is also good for attachments, works nicely with MSN too.

Access a international secure site everytime you want to check your mail is a lot slower though. I'g go with something that integrates into Outlook most likely.

iBurst SMTP is always rubbish

been using their mail server since I started in Aug 05, and their web interface has been nothing but trouble for the past few months, often dropping the connection, not sending messages, returning blank error messages, reporting inability to scan outgoing messages for viruses (plain text over the web app, no attachments), and long delays before messages are delivered.

Given their unfair treatment of 2nd hand device users and frank rudeness to a long-term client I am now converting to gmail and dropping these guys, Telkom charges less to be rude to you.
