Iburst Systems Down???

Today was just my follow up call to Iburst to check why the retentions department did not call me back within 48hours as they were supposed to.

I asked some tech guy if he could pull up my info to see if there really was a request sent for them to call me...

His response was our systems are down.

I in turn asked how long it would take to be up again....

His response was shocking... and i quote "it would take about 4 hours"

Wtf do you think, because its late people become stupid.... maybe the staff at iburst are that thick.

You can lie about your systems being down for 4 hours which must mean you guys are undergoing some major life changing upgrades.

I didnt leave it there... i called again (spoke to the same guy)... just to sound daft i said "i spoke to someone earlier and he said your systems were down.. how long will it take to be up again?" ... the same guy responded by saying 30 mins...

You guys are making yourselves look like asses..

FYI Mr Jannie Van Zyl... your retentions department did not contact me... which means i will no longer wait to hand in my one months cancellation notice.

iBurst's call centre was uncontactable for me the whole of yesterday, all their 087 numbers seem to be down.

Sorry for the outage. Last night at around 11pm there was a cable fault upstream to SAIX which caused peering degradation. This was resolved this morning by Telkom at 5:30am.
The call centre has moved and there has also been some problems with the lines. These problems are being resolved and if not already then definitely before the end of the week. The call centre relies on telecommunication links for access to the customer systems that would have been affected by the above outage as well.
 
I got through to the one person in support at iBurst. His name is Daryl and wont supply a surname. He is the single most unhelpfull person I have ever spoken to.

Dont bother calling support - they are useless. Rather phone accounts and cancel your iBurst.

That what I'm doing now. They suck in all and every respect.
 
I have been trying for 2 days to get hold of iBurst to sign up and no luck. Have called no answer, emailed nothing. used the contact us on the site nada...... do I still want iBurst.... maybe should sell the modem I just bought and go fishing with Jannie..... :whistle:

I think Roland deserves a thanks for his prompt responses. You are doing what every other staff member at Iburst should be doing.... i hope they follow your trend. Thanks again Roland
