Hi,
With reference to my previous post
http://www.mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=19323
A test was conducted at my home last night. Although the Roodekrans tower is not operational as yet (thanks to Telskam) Jaco was able to receive Roodepoort tower with an external antenna.
Signal was 5 bars
Although on a speed test, the speed was slightly better than a 56k modem (and it must be BORNE in mind that we were very far away from Roodepoort tower, approx 7km away and over a hill) the service performed very well and I am quite happy with it. I managed to download a massive PDF from my website, and my chat apps such as MSN Messenger and AOL Instant Messenger functioned as expected and stayed up. The link outperformed the 128k leased line at work.
There is no doubt in my mind that iBurst will work for me. Therefore I am going for it
iBurst is ideal for the kind of internet usage I anticipate.
See you soon
*scurries away to find some cash to buy modem
