Iburst tower photo

Hi Guys

I got on my roof to see if I can see my Iburst tower. There are many possibilities that could be the tower I am connecting to. Has anybody taken a photo of one of these towers, so I can know what I am actually looking for.
I am in Tableview, Cape Town.

We are still having major performance issues in CT, been over a week and I have gone from 80Kb/s to less that 5. The performance sucks big time.

What you are looking for is something like this:

Except the antennas used by iburst have at least 8 antenna elements unlike the pic which only has 4.

It is quite big you should be able to see it unaided from about 3km on a clear day.

you are looking for a whole lot of omni-directional antenna's in a ring, they are normaly situated on buildings in JHB, so look at all the buildings in the area, you really can't miss it....

Nope "ours" are round with 8-12 element sticking up. Not triangular like in the photo.

Hi Guys

Thanx, I have found my tower. Just like the Kyocera pics posted by Daveogg. I have been connecting to a tower about 13km away. 3-4 lights on UTD.Signal not great but at peaks get up to 80Kb/s. Average though about 30Kb's. Exceptable. I have been waiting for the Tableview tower for quite some time. The tower started testing Monday. I turned my external antenae to the new tower, and bang 5 lights, 100% signal.
Great ......Until I try and download. 1-2Kb's speeds. Really pathetic.
I turned the antenae back to the old postion. Normal again 30Kb's.

Anybody know how long it takes WBS to commision one of these towers and get
all the "bugs" ironed out. I am drooling to get my full signal and download speeds that come with that.

I have no idea how long it takes them to set up, but once they have it on their site as active it should shurely be working properly. You should check the tower pretty frequently, I'm geussing it will be live soon.

Most people around Table View wouldn't have bothered with Iburst because no Tower was close by, so you should be getting a very unsaturated and fast tower for the first few months at least. I just wish a new tower will come up in my area!

Tableview Tower

Things are alot better with the new tower. Anybody out there using the new Tableview tower as well. If so, what your experience been ??
