iBurst uncapped for R299

Nevermind, I already confirmed with their retentions department that they are not interested in keeping loyal customers of 7+ years happy anymore. This is only available on 24 month contract. They also couldn't give me an answer on why their capped packages haven't been updated for the last +-3 years.

Standard business practice in ZA: screw the current customers.

I haven't had much problems. Its far more reliable than my Telkom ADSL line. 3G is very unstable where I live.

It does need the external antenna to get the full speed from the service.

Also just checked with iBurst as I already have a USB modem for my laptop when out of office, plus a 2MB modem with Billion router at office. The R299 Lite package only offers 2GB a day fair usage (not the 5GB reported). They will buy back the USB for R400, although they have charged me R1,656 (R69 p.m. over 24 months, which was still cheaper than buying it cash 18 months ago)! I didn't ask them about the Billion router.
Another ripoff is their top up (even one of their employees dubbed it a ripoff!). I pay R149 p.m. for my 5GB package (i.e. R30 per Gig), but had to top up with a Gig this month, which cost me R99!

I have been using iBurst for probably going on 10 years and seem to have had less problems than friends who have ADSL. I have heard that iBurst offers a more consistent service than Neotel, but can't comment personally.

How does their uncapped work? Is the fup usage get reset per day or is it per month?
On the site there's uncapped wireless at R600, with fup of 5 gigs before line speed gets halved.

Do they allow you to test the service before committing to a contract? Does the contract provide an exit point if the service becomes degraded?

What are they like for online gaming? I play a fair bit of lol.
Their 50 gig option seems really cost effective too. Might even take that over the uncapped if it's month to month.

That full speed is? Most who use the service get only 1mbps.
