iBurst uncapped

Im with a standard Iburst accout ATM, was looking at getting Uncapped, however read their fair usage policy, they throttle the hell out of you after 3gb download.Its possible to download 3 gb in 6 hours but that the problem. If your like me and you buy steam games and download them overnight, when you get home your shapped so you cant really play the game.

PLaying dota 2 atm and im getting a good 240 ping to EU west, however i still get this feeling something is wrong, like there is alot more latency than what the ping results give back. When I use my 8ta 3g, dota 2 seems alot better.

I dont know what to say, if your desperate for internet get it cause its a connection, but know its not the best compared to other wireless technologies.
 
Gboss is referring to their ADSL packages not the wireless.. I've emailed them to ask a few questions on their backbone for the ADSL accounts and cancellation policy. Will post when/if I get a reply.
 
hi, id also like to know how shaping, P2P, NNTP and gaming is with them... pricing is pretty good as @blunt said. ADSL as well
 
@Blunt Any feedback from iBurst yet? I checked their FUP but I find no mention of any shaping or throttling on their nuncapped ADSL package.

@ArchieChoke the throttling you mentioned is def for the 3G uncapped. Very similiar to what MTN does on their 3G Uncapped, starngulate you down from 7.2mbps to 384kbps
 
Yeah I wasn't sure, it looked like it applied to all the packages.what got me cheese of was them setting you down to 64k cause of a 3gig daily usage
 
I wonder why iBurst dont have a rep on this forum??? I'm sure it would help boost their exposure and get them more customers.
 
Added uncapped shaped ADSL to my existing iBurst account today (1MB line, month-to-month). changed over from Telkom 10GB at same price (R149/month)...Telkom uncapped all their capped packages today, so I'll hold on to the Telkom account (month-to-month) for a few months, while checking the iBurst ADSL uncapped experience.

Did a speed test at about 6pm and was indicating speed over about 0.8MB (download) and about 0.2MB (upload).
 
Mind posting a traceroute to myadsl.co.za, amazon.co.uk and mail.google.com ?
