I know this issue has been partly addressed in the previous thread about iBurst's latest poor speeds. Just wanted to know what speeds you guys have been experiencing lately and have you also experienced what I call iBursts happy hour.

Ive not been able to reach higher download speeds of 30Kb/s where as before the previous week speeds were up to 100-130Kb/s (taken from a download manager). Every thing in regard to Internet speeds whether its surfing or downloading has taken a step back into the stone age.

Happy Hour: at certain times during the day/night my speeds will return to normal this can last for an hour or more and then its straight back to poor speeds.

If you could all respond by sharing what speeds and other issues all you iBurst subscribers have been experiencing the last couple of days i would appreciate it.

Would like to put all the responses together and send a nice email to iBurst...oh and please keep it short and simple as far as basic intelligences goes for the iBurst staff, Ive come to the conclusion that they don't have any.

:)

I've spoken to iBurst's Cape Regional General Manager again this morning and informed him once again about the poor bandwidth throughput and he acknowledged that the bandwidth currently provided by SAIX in the Cape Region is unacceptable during office hours.

He indicated that he will take up the issue with Joburg and will inform once the situation has been resolved.

I will call him again tomorrow and / or until the issue has been resolved - will post when I have a satisfactory reply.

Current access speed: OH 140 Kbps / AH 950 Kbps (2AM)

Regards

M

..think they (iBurst Management) could get away with providing less than a quarter of the bandwidth (by using SAIX's cache) that is actually required without anyone noticing or complaining.

If you ask me the upgrade not only included better bandwidth management (softcap enforcement / bandwidth utilisation restriction per user) but also switching formally to SAIX as a backhaul bandwidth ISP.

Got one more client using them - just a few more months and I won't have do deal with these bloodsucking idiots any longer.

The past three years have been the most frustrating experience ever in dealing with a so called ISP.

Never again, rather support a monopoly like Telkom and at least most of the time you can use the damn internet.

If by tomorrow this issue has not been resolved I'm going to pass on the Regional Manager's telephone number to every unhappy iBurst user I know.

Could I please ask everyone on this forum's assistance in calling him with your complaints? - Just maybe he will listen and understand the frustration, until he changes his cellphone number.

Regards

M

@Michael, I realize a lot of people complain about Telkom but so far I've never had any problems with them and it's been a year now, so I'll probably stay with them unless Neotel offer a better package at some later stage.

As far as I'm concerned I'd rather be without the internet than go back to iburst, not that I had many connection problems in fact I probably had one of the more stable connections, but I do not want to have to deal with the useless company again never knowing when they decide to drain my bank account.

My speeds have become incredibly more unstable.

I'll get happy minute. Where some unknown reason everything will load like a snap while browsing, then 10 seconds later it's dialup speeds.

Oh and I'm in Joburg.

Tell your friend to stay clear from iBurst, rather have Telkom test his line and recreate his access details...
