I have an iBurst USB Modem which I have been using for the past 3 years on my Mac. The modem is doing some strange things now. Sometimes when I connect on my Apple G5, when I go to the browser there is a kernel panic and I have to restart my machine. I thought it was my G5, but the same thing happens when I use the iBurst USB Modem on my Macbook. Could it be a problem with the modem? How can I test if it is okay? I have tried re-installing the drivers, but that does not work.

I have also noticed that the old USB Modem drivers are no longer up on the iBurst site, does that mean they have discontinued support on the older USB Modems?

The USB modem drivers are universal. Please contact customer services as there are some guys who are very familiar with the Mac in advanced support.

I think I may have had a similar problem last year when I updated my MacBook to the latest version of Leopard. Suddenly the iBurst modem would cause the computer to crash but it worked fine with my PC laptop. Since I upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.3 though, iBurst has been working like a charm again.
