Hey, I have Vista ult x64

k, If I try install USB drivers for iburst, it gives me an error saying that its only for vista,if i use lan port, after a while it just stops working

Any way to either force the drivers to install or a way to fix it?

Thanx in advance

Hi S1ght,

to my knowledge iBurst doenst have drivers for 64bit on both XP & Vista.

I have Vista Business on my lappy using ethernet and it have been running fine for the last 3 weeks.

Tested the PCMCIA drivers - I was able to connect for at least an hour without hassle

hm... that sucks :( So far it only seems to happen though if I use Steam,MSN or start a download, browsing, gtalk & windows update dont have any problems...

I also suggest that you use the ethernet port for connectivity until proper working drivers are released.

Nothing wrong with using the ethernet port.

For me there is, it randomly stops working and requires a restart ....

Heh, I could've sworn I explained the reason for this problem to ya before S1ght....buuuut I've told so many people on here that I guess I tend to forget who and when.

Anyway, chances are you have an onboard nvidia nic right? THAT'S what's causing your reboot requiring problem. (You can google it and see other people complaining about the issue, but it's a 5 year old issue and nvidia are not bothered about fixing it - and it happens on ALL windows OSes)

Your only solution is to get a pci nic from some other brand.

Morning D

Please check your aministrator rights.

We have only seen this problem on PC's where the owner did not have enough rights.

Hope this helps

Shaun: I was at the Digital Life Expo the other day and I visited the iBurst stand and spoke to one of the tech support guys regarding 64bit driver support. I mentioned the fact that no drivers have been released yet for the PCMCIA modem ( new version) or old version. He was not aware of that and stated that this should not have happened. He took down my details and told me that he would contact me soon when a driver is available. If possible could you find out the progress on this specific driver. It seems strange that iBurst would release 64bit drivers for all their other products except this one. Thanks.

Hi there,

Sorry about the inconvenience. Please PM me your detail so that I can contact you.

Cheers

It's not like I made a new thread, this is from 2007 :) Problem was solved by getting a router :D

Thank you for assisting me over the phone today even though you were on holiday, Shaun!

UPDATE:

The Vista 64-bit OS drivers on www.iburst.co.za for the Desktop modem and the USB modem are the same file, but it did not install on any of the machines that I tried installing it on.

The error that reflected on the screen is: "iBurst Terminal has stopped working"

The only thing that got it working was the driver from www.redballinternet.com for Vista 64-bit OS.
It installed without any hiccups and worked immediately - without even requiring a reboot!

In conclusion, the only difference I spot between the RedBall driver and the iBurst driver is that the driver file available on www.redballinternet.com is NOT zipped.

Could this actually be the reason why the driver on www.iburst.co.za didn't work?!
