iBurst will be selling adsl from April

You can be sure that anyone who has "burnt their fingers" with iburst is not likely to sign up with them for ADSL or any other product they try to push.

Talk for yourself, I'm still a happy iBurst user. I was considering changing over to ADSL (that's if I ever get my phoneline installed ... 5 weeks and counting) but now they're introducing better rates I might just stay.

Broadband is just gonna get cheaper, and wait till June 2009. That's why everyone is offering it now, Vodacom, iBurst... They reckon prices will drop by 80% with the new Seacom cable..

I think i'm just gonna stick with them, even though 3G was looking very attractive over the past 2 weeks... I just hope they up the speed soon to 2mbps or more - that's my only complain as of yet...

i wonder what ramifications selling adsl will have for the continued use of the name iburst.

Hmm, then they'll have a third-party to lay blame for their ineptitude.

Slow connections, Connection timeouts, Connection Refused, dropping out of EVE-Online every 10 minutes. they can't even handle the stuff they've been doing for the past x years; how are they going to handle new stuff?

Ah well, not much to really do about it, i'm only still on them because Telkom don't have decent lines in my area, though apparently they are upgrading. Application has already been submitted.

Iburst for ADSL when there are companies like Web Africa that actually do work? You gotta be kidding me. Its a fool who sticks with them... but then we also had many Sentech die hards here until everyone bailed ship.

If they had better prices than my current ISP I'd consider moving. With ADSL accounts it doesn't bother me much, I almost never deal with the ISP.

ouch!

I've become a happy iburster... their 64k is much more appealing than any dsl offering

Not so sure about that as since I got ADSL back in June/July last year I've been able to download as much as I like international at +_4Mbps without been capped or charged any extra.:D

MrH - my suspicion is that when you compare iBurst to the other ADSL speed packages, that 64kbps actually becomes quite meaningful.

how much is as much as you like?

Technically on a stadard iBurst post cap 64kb/8KB connection one can download bewteen 18 and 20 GB excluding the 1mbps package you paid for, that is if you leave your connection running 24/7.

You can figure that out yourself,;) just consider it's running at 4Mbps and I only really do serious downloading during the last 2 weeks of the month.
I spend the first few weeks of any month gathering the download links I want and then it's +90% download time till the end of the month.

I have to admit it's cost me a fair bit on new large HDDs though.

Thats true, then again when I had iburst it was also almost flat out right through the month as some members here will remember.;)

Given I was on the G9 packages, Do3 makes absolute sense.
