I'm trying to get iBurst to work along with my work LAN (I'm at work). When I connect to iBurst my LAN stops working and I can't access network drives and email. What do I need to do?

DarkDenim, how many LAN cards does your PC have?

Only 1 network card. I'm using the USB iBurst modem and my mail uses the corporate LAN.

I'm using a USB only modem (the small one) which is connected to my PC via USB. When I connect the modem it creates a new Local Area Connection for some reason. I now have 3 network connections: iBurst, Local Area Connection, Local Area Connection 2. Local Area Connection 1 is the corporate LAN and as soon as I connect to iBurst my email and network drives stop working.

When I run 'route print' in the command prompt I get...

I know the 1st 2 entries mean something needs to be changed.

Mine's the same at work since November. Apparently they implemented some sort of additional security (?) that drops your lan when any other network connection is detected. Including DUN connections we make to support our f*cking clients

I think that's what happened on our network as well :(

hi newbie here, whats this about additional security? it sucks, cos i surf and then suddenly the whole connection drops, i have to restart the pc and reconnect. i got iburst, good pc,network card, but i use the usb cable. i also want to share my connection over a switch, do i need to assign individual ip's to my two pc's? can i run it all at the same time? is this suppose to be this frustrating??? (ok i know a router wouldve worked easier, but i got this switch now.)

thanks for any help,replies.
