IC Connection 4mb ADSL account daytime shaping?

I'd just like to get a report from anyone who is on the 4mb Connection uncapped account for R199. My wife is at home in the daytime and needs some amount of internet - obviously not full speed (we only have a 2mb line anyway so no matter what it'll be half the available DSL speed), but currently our Openweb uncapped account is so shaped in the daytime that it's actually unusable for her.

My options are therefore to either go over to a capped OW account with better daytime contention ratios or try the 4mb Connection uncapped account and hope that the daytime speeds are enough for her to do her basic needs, which aren't anything hectic. She really just wants to use Facebook, Gtalk, Gmail and occasionally YouTube but that isn't a must.

Advice?

I got one and works just fine for me. P2P and stuff is shaped, that's about it. Keep your stars 3 and above and you'll be fine. The cool thing is that naturally YMMV between regions/locations so if it doesn't work for you then it's a simply "click" to cancel (before the 25th), no 30 day bull**** :)
 
Not that I download during the day (I schedule downloads for 23:00-6:00), I fired one up and:

Cool, no worries. What account is that? Sounds like a hybrid like vox capped (fat-pipe) plus uncapped bolt-on (I have one of those when it was available, so not in a rush to cancel it :D)

just go to a Telkom store, takes 5-10 minutes and it's done.
He lives in Somerset West so his drive to the mall is even closer than mine from GB.

That's what I love about it - there is no basic uncapped, home uncapped, business uncapped, unshaped, shaped, gold, super, premium, etc packages garbage....
Just internet.

The Telkom thread doesn't look too rosy at the moment tho.

I tend to choose ISP's with quiet threads.

Yes the network had problems yesterday, but they fixed the caching server or whatever and it's running like butter today.
In fact I think today my internet is the most responsive it has ever been.

All I'm saying is this... if he's Paying R220 for the ADSL line he might as well bundle it with an uncapped account for R175 extra bucks.
R25 more than OpenWeb Home Uncapped, but it gives you max speed during ALL hours of the day.

OW don't deserve anyone from myBB's money. I'm just shocked that the OP, with almost 20K posts, has not seen or heard of the OW fiasco and douche-bag that is Dr Keoma.
Even if they came with outright proof that dispels the account sharing etc I still wouldn't use them solely based on their poor ethics.

What I don't understand is how some of you care about fiasco's, who the CEO is, account sharing, and ethics.
Who gives a crap?

Either the internet account works or it doesn't - and that's all you should be worried about.
Unfortunately OW sucks in that department as well.
