Hi all,

I've gotten my iBurst account active today, and I've decided to take out the iCall service as I have a SNOM M3 laying around at home which I should (right?) be able to use for this.

However, when trying to add the service from the iBurst website, it tells me "Error adding service" - please try again later.

Any suggestions? It was on the original application form, but when I asked the sales lady she said I should try online "because I have not received feedback on it from our Technical department."

Should I continue to bug her?

I'll have support look at the web error and fix. If you are in a hurry, please PM me your account and I'll add the service.

I use iCall myself as my primary voice line.

No hurry, and I'm also a bit concerned that my connection isn't too great. Will do some speed tests first and then we'll see.

How's the bandwidth usage on iCall? If I make R50 worth of calls, how much MB will that consume?

That is all dependant on the type of codec you use. As an example G.729 uses up to about 12 kb/s on the wire.

R00igev@@r - I've received my iCall username and password. However, it doesn't seem to play along with my SNOM phone too nicely - the "@" sign in the username confuses the phone and stops it from even TRYING to log in. See this thread: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?243740-iBurst-iCall-and-SNOM-M3

Any chance that iBurst might give me a username such as "ebendl" instead of "[email protected]"? I've been speaking to "Thando" at the iCall department, but he doesn't seem to understand the problem (and perhaps I don't either :)).

PM me your contact details and I'll have our VoIP fundi contact you.
