Icasa's Moonlighting Scandal Grows

Mohlala defended her involvement by claiming she was on leave from Icasa duty on the day in question, received no remuneration and declared her interest to council.
sheesh like being on jury duty in a court case involving your company, but its ok because you took time off?!?
Khaas described Mashile as “someone with no spine”, adding that his handling of the matter had made him question his leadership.

Mohlala is the sole director of law firm Mamodupi Mohlala Inc, which trades as Mohlala Attorneys, and was registered five days before she began her term as an Icasa councillor in July 2002.

Hmmm....

And we have another potential Idiot of the Week Award to hand out....

It's sad, and I am very disappointed because I remember Mohlala in the April 2005 round of ADSL hearings. She was tough on Telkom, a real tiger. I thought she was intelligent, capable, and one of those 'over-achiever' types. I was very impressed with her and her handling of Telkom's representatives. She called a duck a duck, and didn't put up with Telkom's evasive answers.

But the fact that she seems to be moonlighting in this way exceeds all the redeeming qualities I just noted. There is no excuse for her actions. Interested to see how this story develops.

Glad that more mainstream media attention is going on ICASA.
