ICASA's SNOTTY attitude! Check it out...

its pretty difficult to deal with a person who disagrees with a previously published decision. What were you really hoping for?

Isn't that an offence for the courts (if you wanted to...)? - isn't it ICASAs job to protect the consumer and here they are actually admitting that they don't read complaints

The people at ICASA seem to me to be a mixturre of extremes- you got those who really work and try to improve the situation, and those who are just along for the taxpayer-funded ride/or actually in the Minister's employ.

I have received the most excellent and the worst service from ICASA.

And when it's bad, it's r-e-a-l-l-y bad.

Sounds like ICASA is now starting to settle-in to their powerless role. kilps is right: 'courts' - but not just any court, the Constitutional Court. I fear they are the only body/person left in the country who might be on our side and who can sort out this whole ridiculous ICASA situation.

Icasa Service

Please don't even get me started on service at ICASA.

I need to apply for licensing for our wireless network, which I have done successfully previously with another company.

However, on phoning them yesterday and confirming that I can go ahead, after my application forms was handed in and payed for, I was informed that I have to re-apply as the new telco law is now in effect and that after I was transferred from one person to another about seven times.

Ok, great I thought to myself. At least I can then apply for the new stuff instead of having the old and then convert it. So I asked where I can get these. The lady with great satisfaction informed me that we have to wait until it is gazetted and today I just found out that nobody knows when that will be. And in the meantime, I can't get either an old nor a new license for God knows how long.

We as a company have spend a considerable amount on planning, paying license fees and interest. Now however we have to pay staff (20+) and rent and we can’t trade due to this according to this lady minor lapse on ICASA side.

Service? What service?

The_Grog, trade anyway, This is not your fault, it's ICASA's problem. ICASA's not going to pursue you or take away your equipment or anything like that over something that will just draw more attention to their incompetance.
