ICND 1 and 2 or CCNA?

I am busy with these, self study and all that.

Is it better to split it over the two exams, first ICND1 and then later ICND2 or is it better to do the one exam and go straight for the CCNA certification?

Do the combined exam. Most Cisco trainers also recommend doing the combined exam.

I have heard that it might be better to just do the one... Time is a bit of an issue though.

But hey you guys might be right, do the one and get it over with.

Just do the CCNA is not that difficult

Its not that easy either, depending on experience..

Yes

:erm:;):D

How come I never see you guys -- "doing the walk"

Likewise...

Just do it once off, run a few simulations and make sure you are familiar with the commands etc. You really dont have time to use help functions during the simulations in the exam.

Just skip ccna & ccnp etc and go straight to CCIE, no prior certs required ;)

Please post your CCIE number?

Never attempted it although I probably should have seeing it was much much easier in the early days as it was the only cert they had. All my other Cisco certs are also expired ;) Lighten up, it was a joke.

It would have been a total burn if you could post it.

Sure

Hey I have done my CCNA.

I do not dispute that

What I meant was -- I do not see you guys on any posts with questions that have some kind of Cisco bearing.

Scared of answering posts involving Cisco ?????

I thought that you guys were mean to be Cisco advocates.

Not a Cisco advocate as I've never worked for a place that does Cisco's.

Where did you get your Cisco knowledge from?

not sure what ur on about here....
ppl are answering to a thread about an entry level cisco exam which they themselves have completed???

And btw, recommending Cisco (u seem to love name dropping the brand so much...) at every opportunity no matter how ridiculous does not buy any kind of credibility

Exactly -- which fact gives them the ability / credibility to answer a lot of networking questions posted here.

I am not trying to "buy" anything.

I already have a couple of Cisco routers and switches.

Ridiculous ? When you know what Cisco can do , you do tend to drop the name a lot. Their market share and penetration tend to support "Ridiculous"

SO -- WHAT is YOUR CCIE number ??????????

And they do answer networking questions here? But that still has nothing to do with the fact ur whinging about something off topic...

u have a couple of cisco routers and switches....well done, i am sure owning owning a wrist watch enables you to be an intellectual on the subject of space-time curvature as well..

When you know what cisco can do? Whats that, routing and switching? NAC? VPN? Firewalling? So what? many other products do that as well, and at a smaller price.....Their market share and name brand certainly does not support some of your insane mentions of getting semi-quote "Cisco switch with IOS" to simply do normal switching in response to another thread topic on here. Cisco have some great products, i dont deny it, and my problem is more with you than the brand.

I never claimed to have a CCIE, Why you ask me for mine i have no idea? I do have multi vendor qualifications if thats what you care about, but qualifications on the whole does not count for real world experience.

And what i can tell about you, is you most likely have very little of the real world experience in any kind of network thats not in your moms basement. If you did you would fit the product to the solution (and actually provide solutions instead of dropping name brands and trying to quote the OSI layer).

But anyways, I am tired of arguing with you in threads. Punt and say what you want, just hope no one actually asks u to do anything

:D lol yeah.

Honest truth is certs are a bunch of sheet. I have seen guys that got their CCNP's etc and they don't know jack. Not to brag but I've worked on Cisco kit since the days of AGS's & MGS's when IOS had a single digit version number and had BNC connectors for E1 circuits etc. Used to eat packets for breakfast :D

I really should have tried CCNP but it would not have made a difference to my package as I already had BOFH access. The amount of Cisco courses I did was shocking considering the costs involved but fortunately I did not pay for them.

I've never worked with Juniper but from what I have seen their OS seems better than IOS and Cisco have also adopted a modular approach on their high end kit like GSR's etc.

People, this not a pissing contest. The dude want's to do his CCNA and my recommendation is to do the single exam when he is ready.

I found that even doing the two exams seperatly time was a factor, there is a lot of questions to get through, especially if you don't have much cisco experience.

I am busy with second ccnp exam and have found this blog useful

Goodluck whichever you choose
