Pirch was always lame :D

mIRC was there before Pirch... and after it :D I remember using Windows 3.11 to connect to the internet with trumpet winsock and using mirc 2.1 :D (this was before the days of ZAnet and such).
 
I kinda "met" my wife on IRC as well. Her room mate at varsity was in my class and we made a channel and she used to come on there. The room mate was actually trying to set her up with another guy :p

I actually met my wife through one of my blogs (hehe, was speaking about the genome)... we got chatting, she had ICQ, swapped details, became friends... and many years later got married :D

ZAnet predated trumpet winsock and commercial ISPs ;)

Hardly. 96 is when ZAnet came to be (unless you consider differnet to be zanet).

I was there from the start. Are you the same sinbad gaspode k-lined off his network? I remember the great ZAnet split between Sinbad and Gaspode :D

Haha I am the same. The split was driven by Timewiz, not me however. I just picked the wrong side for a while. Gaspode and I are still friends.
I was on ZAnet in 1994... 96 is when Pi launched his Services though if I remember right, which is why the oldest registered nicks have that date.

I think it was either you or timewiz that I once asked for assistance with issues I had with an IBM AS400 :D Was so long ago.

Gaspode used to pwn me the most. I remember #quake

Funniest stuff ever! Everyone changed their nicks to Gaspodesmom etc. He came into the channel... you see, "oh oh"... and the k-lines start and the channel gets closed. Great days :D
 
Meh I can't remember my pin or original email. lol.
