Hey guys,

Has anyone got ICS working properly on Win7?

I have 1 machine that has no wifi card and I have no spare eth ports open on my router, yet I need to connect it to the network briefly.

I tried setting up ICS in win7 for this machine by right clicking on the wifi network connection on the host machine > sharing > allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection.

Yet when I plug it in via the crossover cable and assign host 1.1.1.1 - subnet 255.0.0.0 and client 1.1.1.2 - subnet 255.0.0.0 no internet connection is shared - the pcs can both see one another.

Am I doing something wrong. Host box win 7 - client box Ubuntu.

Any suggestions? Note this is an RC build of Win7 - perhaps it is broken...

Thanks
J

Only thing I can think of is to make sure the Ubuntu box has the Windows 7 IP address configured as DNS and Gateway. Give it a shot and let me know ;)
