ICS out today

Thanx buddy,

I was trying MIUI, very nice rom, however I was so used to the way the stock rom worked I decided to just go back to it.

I've always maintained that sense is the only stock rom that adds value to the end user. And for the most part I've been using roms based on sense, leedroid and insertcoin.

On functionality sense is awesome. On performance, not. Due to an ever expanding list of bloatware.

That's where AOSP roms are great. But on a high end dual core, functionality not performance is the priority.

Having said that Miui is a kinda hybrid between a vanilla experience and a feature packed rom. I've only been using it for three days and its brilliant. I think you should give it another shot.

If you do you're going to want to take two additional steps. 1. Install a launcher, adw is my choice. 2. Install the ICS theme. Then see how you like it.

The miui ones were perfcect. But I am running ICS now, so I can't use the miui toggles. I'll try the power toggle one soon, but I doubt it will work if it was made for gingerbread.

3 features in MIUI that I can not live without. Until ICS get them I will not even look at it.

Firewall. To set what apps are allowed to use 3G and wifi to setting them to use none at all.
DND. Doing phone support. I need this so on I can set times when selected numbers are not allowed to even ring on my phone.
Permission. Prompting me before any app is allowed to phone or SMS.

Well the first 2 can be done without MIUI rooted or not.

Is there a per app firewall in ICS, and you say DND is now in ICS or you referring to 3rd party apps?

Because I haven't seen any of that in the reviews.

Not talking bout ics at all, 3rd part on gingerbread. Callmaster for the calls, onovo for the firewall and neither require root althou cmb works better with it.

Cmb can block any and all types of calls perminently or on schedule, if u have root it does it pre ring, if not ull hear a beep, oh and its free, so is onavo.
