ics problems with vodacom

SO I installed ICS over Kies, onto my galaxy S II.
Since then I cannot connect too the vodacom network, even manually, so I cannot make or receive phone calls. Is there anyone out there who knows what could be wrong?

Did you pull the ROM manually from somewhere other than OTA or auto update from KIES?

Thanks for replying. It was auto over Kies.

I have tried a factory reset, but all that happened is nothing.I also tested my sim in another phone, where it worked.

Do a quick check to see if your IMEI is still the same as on the box. I searched the Web and found some other people with the same problem as yours. It could be that your EFS file got messed up, but that shouldn't happen with an official update.

I dont seem to have the box anymore. It also turns out that when i lock the phone, it doesn't ask for my pin. I have set it for screen lock and sim lock. doesn't change anything when I try and use the pattern lock. Is there a way i could completly re-install the official version?

2 options. 1 would be to reinstall the firmware via Odin. Other is to give it back to Vodacom for repairs. Not sure if Kies allows you to reinstall firmware

Take it to a Vodacom Repair Centre.

Try anothet vdc sim in your phone

I tried another one now. It worked fine. my sim works fine in another phone. though my phone still wont lock. doesn't matter which sim I use. maybe ics has another way too lock? Iether way. still no network :-(

The only other advice I can offer is to download the firmware from another source and install it with Odin.

does your sim have a pin on.if so disable it and check if you get signal,had the same error.there is also way to fix the screen lock ,pin code and shutdown optiond,but you need root.
- Download "Terminal Emulator" app from market
- open it
- type into the command:
su
echo -n ON > /efs/imei/keystr
sync
force close Terminal emulator in settings>applications
swtich off screen and voila....compliments of xda

Still no upgrade for me! Wtf. Nothing on OTA and my phone refuses to connect to Kies
