It was gazetted on 6 June 2012 and is effectively immediately.

The biggest impact is with ownership where it has been increased from 25% to 30%.

Effectively all B-BBEE certificates in the ICT sector are invalid and all companies have to obtain new ones taking into consideration the revised measures.

Exempted enterprises - where total annual revenue is less than R5 million.

Of course if government is serious about an ICT policy review this charter would be open to discussion about a month after being promulgated?
 
You know I really do not even care about this. I as a internet user at home just want to have affordable internet at home. If they can't organise that then they can kiss my ass and in my opinion do not know a thing about building a country where EVERYBODY can live in dignity.

Yeah... I would like to say that this puts poor black people at a disadvantage as much as it does poor white people, but as things stand I would not be surprised if they get internet for free. If they are not then these BEE policies do not mean squat. How can you economically empower people by making stuff more expensive? It does not compute.

I'm starting to think these aholes just like to cause kak and watch the world burn.
